Thank you, God, for inspiring me to create Strong Girls Pray! I originally wrote about The Meaning of Courage for a podcast. Through my reader’s inspiration, I decided to write my testimonial on courage.in hopes to help someone else facing a time when courage will overcome fear.
I am a breast cancer survivor. I was so scared and full of fear when I heard the words, “You have cancer.” I was terrified of the word “cancer.” I was fearful of the disease and frightened to go through surgery. Afraid I would never get better, and if I did it would come back.
Well guess what?..
- I went through surgery, and that took courage.
- I learned and researched everything I could about cancer. I only knew OF cancer, not WHAT cancer was. That took guts.
- I learned everything I could about nutrition and fitness. I changed my whole lifestyle and my family to a healthier way to live. That was brave.
- Instead of thinking negatively about cancer coming back, I began to believe that it would never come back. I have Jesus protecting me, and He is Amazing! That is total confidence.
When I was fearful, I realized I came through my situation, not with fear but courage! That is because God was there holding my hand. God turned my fear into courage. He commands us not to fear. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. “Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
“Blessed is to those who look up to the Lord with open hands and a heart of love. Your fears will disappear. your courage will allow you to live happy, healthy, and blessed with a bright light of joy shining over you.” ~Tamara David
My motto is Strong Girls, who pray together stay together. I believe all women have a voice with God, and when we listen to that voice, we become unstoppably strong!” Philippians 4:13
