“To create one’s world in any of the arts takes courage.”
While Ms. O’Keeffe may be referring to the visual and performing arts, her words inspired me to reflect upon each person’s uniqueness and the courage it takes to embrace who God made us be. Every person is created in God’s image. God is the universe’s artist and the Creator of every detail within our world (Genesis 1).
As God’s image-bearers, each person has an artist living inside him or her; therefore, each person is an artist with a vibrant imagination and unique way of seeing the world. Art is not limited to a canvas, a stage, or a musical instrument but exists in numerous forms such as technology, medicine, cooking, business, or helping others. Ultimately, to be successful, you need the courage to embrace the gifts and talents God has uniquely bestowed upon you. Have the courage to embrace who you are!
“I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.”
Psalm 139:14, AMP
