Are You Confusing Being Happy with Feeling Joyful?

God put on my heart today that his children are losing their joy. God wants everyone to feel joyful with their lives. “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the Joy of the LORD is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10.

Even though this has been a tough year for all of us, it should not be a time of misery. Good can come out of anything when God intervenes. A common mistake Christians make is confusing being happy with joy. Joy is not the same thing as being happy. Happiness is a feeling a person has when they feel pleasure usually from something good or being satisfied., When someone is joyful, it means they have a confident assurance that God has their back., Although we face ups and downs, our unseen road ahead is perfectly taken care of by our Father in Heaven.

Do you feel anxiety and stress with all the problems you are facing that keep mounting up because of these unprecedented times? Today, ask yourself if you are losing your joy? If so…seek our Lord’s face and know you are loved. Ask for restoration with thankfulness (Psalm 51:12). Your Father in Heaven is looking after you because you are His child. Joyfully celebrate that you are His!
